The fourth film in the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Salvation, hit theaters yesterday — and while it features potentially more explosions and action scenes than any before it, Director McG made sure that the production was as green as possible.

“We were wildly green, left almost no carbon footprint,” said McG to MNN. “Our production team was very insistent upon recycling and repurposing sets, recycling all the paper. We tried to leave as minimal a footprint as possible. I think we made a lot of strides in that respect. In fact, we were recognized by the New Mexico governor’s office for doing a good job.”

Obviously, it helps to have a director with a healthy respect for the environment — and McG is definitely on-board with changing the way movies are made. “I’m very, very green. I’m passionate about it,” he said. “I recycle — it’s ridiculous not to. It’s so easy once you make the adjustment, and you feel better about your daily approach.”

  2. Good for McG, that all of us in the film industry were as conscious! I’m green, vegan, and will not make any film that degrades or contributes to the detgriment of my fellow humans, no arguements, no compromises!!!!!

it is nice to hear something positive. I hope that this starts a trend, seems like more industries are willing to change to help the environment.
