whalewars

June 5th marks the return of the controversial series Whale Wars on Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet Network. As we chronicled a bit this year, Paul Watson and his crew faced ever greater challenges in hunting down and disrupting the Japanese whaling fleet. In the end, however, their efforts were rewarded with Japan reaching none of its quotas for the season.

We’ve got a promo clip of Season 2 available below. The network has also released some raw footage deemed too graphic for those under 18 — though we encourage anyone who has never witnessed what a whale hunt to watch. It definitely will give you some perspective on what Sea Shepherd is attempting to curtail. That clip runs below the fold. Click here to learn more about Whale Wars Season Two.

    “Bull fighting is fine entertainment”

    For unevolved people maybe!!
Yes, it is a ‘barbaric’ (b : possessing or characteristic of a cultural level more complex than primitive savagery but less sophisticated than advanced civilization – merriam-webster’s online dictionary) show.

“Screw the Whales. There are people dying all around the world. Lets feed them first.”

An absurd argument – from that point of view why don’t you sell your computer and your tv sets and donate the money to help feed the hungry people? Why stop there? Sell you car (you can always use public transportations) and do the same thing with that money. Bur hey, let’s be more ambitious… Let’s stop everything we’re all doing and let’s feed the hungry people of this world…
Obviously you don’t have a clue of what multitasking means. Everyone has different jobs and occupations because all of them are needed. Some organizations help feed hungry children, others help save the whales, others help refugees and so on… Get it?

“It has been shown that most animal rights activist are criminals.[...]The Japanese fisherman should start harpooning these dumbass fucks on the Steve Irwin boat. Oh, yes: all members of PETA should be killed and eaten.”

I guess no comments about this absurdity and immaturity are needed!

“well DUHHHHHH you idiots if I were on that ship I would be harpooning your asses…DOHHH!!!”

Again, this proves how animal eaters can be extremely violent people. Let me remind you that a while ago one crew member of the whaling ships fell overboard (nothing to do with the Sea Shepherd’s activities) and when SS offered to help search for him the whalers refused their help. This proves what kind of people are whalers…

“Indeed, God wants us to take care of the animals and don’t torture them but He gave us the animals for us to eat and live as beautiful as the animal may be.”

I’m not even going into this religious fanatic mumbo jumbo…
All I can reply is – have you ever heard of: “Thou shall not kill?” Let me ask you something – kill what? Humans? Animals? Humans and animals? Hum… What kind of perfect god would create such an ambiguous commandment? Or did (s)he mean “not kill, period”? In that case this would mean that all non-veg*an christians would be a bunch of hypocrites, right?

Let’s get things straight – Japan’s scientific research is a load of crap:

    http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20227136.100-why-japans-whaling-activities-are-not-research.html

Secondly, all those (the evil defenders) who accuse Sea Shepherd and other real AR organizations of being eco-terrorists are nothing but a bunch of cowards. At least these people are fighting for what they believe in and in the case of SS they have never seriously hurt anyone.

It’s so easy to point fingers when you’re comfortably sitting at home and doing nothing to change this world for the better. At least these people are out there putting their asses on the line fighting for their ideals!

  • Man of God

JW said, ” Next thing is how in the F!!!!! do you compare chickens to whales, with millions of chickens (not to mention bird flu)they are no where near mass extinction like some whales are and speaking of god, who in the F!!! gave the previous writer the right to judge what should be or what shouldn’t be used to keep the ocean in balance. God makes that decision, sure as hell not the previous writer.

Just like the Dinosaurs that are extinct, God does whatever He feels like with all the animals including whales. If an animal gets extinct, no big deal as God can create another new entire species out of nothing! But God is really not interested in saving His animals, He is interested in His best creation, HUMANITY.

JW said, ” Honestly the previous writer sounds more like the anti-christ than someone who follows in the footsteps of the lord “.

So, I give you the Word of God and you call me anti-christ? How is that possible? I am here trying to give everyone spiritual light and the people who have never ever bothered to pick up a Bible start calling me anti-god. HOW ABSURD AND PLAIN HATEFUL.

Study the Bible, know the Lord and get saved.

Whoever said, ” I’m not even going into this religious fanatic mumbo jumbo…
All I can reply is – have you ever heard of: “Thou shall not kill?” Let me ask you something – kill what? Humans? Animals? Humans and animals? Hum… What kind of perfect god would create such an ambiguous commandment? Or did (s)he mean “not kill, period”? In that case this would mean that all non-veg*an christians would be a bunch of hypocrites, right?

First of all, I am not a religious fanatic, I have a relationship with God. When God commanded ” thou shall not kill ” He meant humans, not animals as it is very clear that God made a lot of animals for us ( His special creation ) to eat and enjoy. Did’nt you ever read that Jesus ate fish after He resurrected? And almost all of Jesus disciples were fishermen? Were they whalers? Maybe yes maybe no, Jesus loved them even if they were whalers or even if they hunted alligators for a living.

It is not an ambiguos commandment and yes God is perfect and every commandment He gave us is for our own good. Did’nt you know that God Himself was the first to actually kill an animal? Yes, that’s right. When Adam and Eve sinned, God killed a Lamb in order to cover them from their nakedness!

Have you ever read that God demanded the Jews to slain ” thousands ” of male bulls and Lambs as Holocaust to pay for their sins? Yes, hundreds of thousands of bulls and lambs were killed every year as sin atonnement for the sins of Israel and actually the whole world too.

So, as you can see God does’nt have too much love for a calf, bull, lamb, whale or whatever animal we are talking about. What He really loves is His special creation, the creation that was created in His image, US THE HUMANKIND. This is why Jesus came and died for our sins, not for the crocodriles or whales! Get it now?

This is why there is so many blind people all over the World trying to save the Earth, save the environment, saving the animals and are not considering that is all up to the creator of all God who has the final word, and when He pulls the plug it’s goodnight Earth.

But our God is so good that He does’nt want a single person to be lost. This is why He waits, and waits and waits but until one day when He can’t wait any longer. This is why the time is now to get to know Jesus and not later because no one knows when the Lord’s great patience will end.

you are too close to me…. you’re too close to the whales. what is the music at this time on the commercial?

  • Shark

If God created animals for us to eat and use and kill… why did he wait millions of years to create us? Why were so many species of animals here millions, thousands or hundreds of years here before us?

    • andrew

@shark I don’t know where you are getting at in your question. Is it bad that God created animals before us? Are you saying that if God created animals before us, this means that he cares more about them? if that is the case then, i think picking up a bible and reading it would help because you wouldn’t ask this question if you don’t read the bible or have a clue about christianity for that matter.
Either way I honestly don’t have an answer for you but all I know is that God does everything for a reason and that he does things beyond our intelligence, and it shouldn’t bother you that he created animals before us, we already know who God is here for. HUMANS
