This is absolutely inexcusable behavior from Sea Shepherd. It has become clear that “saving whales” is just an excuse for these thugs to act violently; just like football hooligans. The fact that they’re on TV is just accelerating their bloodlust. They are giving an incredibly bad reputation to the people who are really trying to stop whaling. How can we go on to serious debates to argue against whaling when we’re immediately equated with these fools?

I hope people who are truly concerned about protecting the whale populations would contact Sea Shepherd directly and urge them to stop hurting the agenda they’re pretending to support.

  • Hart

Violently? LOL, is a ship a living thing? Keep dreaming, damaging property that is being used in a criminal action is NOT violence, no matter how much you wish it was. You wanna talk about people hurting the cause? Look at Greenpeace who spend 90% of the donations they take on on staffing costs of having kids bother people on the street to beg for more money. Talk about turning public opinion against the cause.

  • Robert Anderson

I can only hope those brave people on the Sea Sheaprd sink the Japanese whaling vessels! YOU GO PAUL WATSON! You’re our family’s HERO!!!

  • http://www.Seashepherd.org Captain Paul Watson

The Japanese whaling fleet is targeting endangered whales in an established international whale sanctuary in violation of a global moratorium and in contempt of an Australian Federal Court ruling. They are poachers, no different than elephant poachers in Africa. Sea Shepherd is not breaking the law we are upholding it and the proof is that we have never been convicted of a crime and we have never injured a single person in pursuit of our objective of saving whales from criminal poachers.

  • Erica Ardali

I would give my right arm to be there right along with them! Paul Watson is my idol! We tried diplomacy it doesn’t work. We need to use action to let them know we know what you are doing and we are not going to take it anymore!

  • http://uvuaac.blogspot.com/ Jorgen

God, PAUL WATSON IS THE BEST! Whoever said this is inexcusable violence, maybe you should see what they do to those whales.

  • Stephanie

    Sea Shepard rocks!

  • Whoever…

There is a time for diplomacy and then there’s a time for rough, brave and fearless actions!!

I don’t support directly any NGOs (I have my reasons…), but I’m 100% behind Sea Shepherd on this.

It’s time to seriously kick some butts!! Hell with talking with the japanese and asking them nicely to stop whaling! Hell with being called extremists! So what? As long as they ruin the japanese whaler’s agenda, fine by me…

    :)

Sink the whaling ships!!! Stop those pirates of the seas!!!

P.S. And I don’t give a F*** any more if people call me a nut job, an extremist, etc. …

    BITE ME!!!!

I’m with the other WW supporters. Those whale poachers need to go DOWN and fast.

    AWESOME!

    Lol @

“Paul can we slow it down”

    “huh? no.”

you go Paul Watson!!! and the brave SS crew as well

  • http://www.veganjapan.net herwin

Paul Watson is a hero and an inspiration and belongs in the same category as Martin Luther King and Gandhi because he is defending the defensles.

  • Chris Notting

Get a life. The hardest show to watch ever. I cringe when I see it. The Sea Shepherds seem like they get sexually aroused by whales…….And Paul Watson. Paul Watson is a psycho, much like the rest of the crew. Shave your mustaches and get a job. Half of you appear as if you’ve been in the woods for 5 years. Paul Brown looks identical to a pirate. Hideous. Leave the Japanese alone and let the proper authorities deal with it.

  • LetDCVote

I’ve just watched my first episode of Whale Wars….I’m a good ol’ lefty, environmentalist, and I have never been so appauled in my life.

The COMPLETE and utter incompetence of the crew and her captain is nothing less than terrifying. A bunch of whiney college brats who have no business running or even being on a ship in the middle of the Arctic Ocean!

Capt. Paul, I hope you sincerely realize how far back you have set your “movement” and mission. I have no idea what you think you have disrupted, but you’ve made anyone and everyone who cares about stopping illegal whaling look like a crazed, cult fanatic, losing any and all credibility.

I hope, for your own sake and the sake of the children you have as a pseudo-crew, that the Australian authorities lock you up and confiscate that joke of a ship, the Steve Irwin (talk about being a media whore, by the way….find a more respectable name for your ship! Though the way you endanger those children on your crew is, come to think of it, much like the criticism leveled at Irwin as he dangled his daughter over a crocodile. Maybe it is more appropriate than I thought…)

  • Roy09

There’s nothing wrong with standing up for what you believe in.

Can’t wait to read about the Sea Shepherd sinking.

    Stupid Idiots

  • Dan

You people are morons. Paul Watson isn’t a hero and he’s about the most cowardly person I’ve ever seen.

He and his crew have no idea what they’re doing in any phase of their operation. They do everything by the seat of their pants and narrowly avoid killing themselves about once every five minutes.

The dirty little secret is Paul Watson doesn’t give a crap about stopping whaling. He’s in it to become a celebrity, that’s why he broke off with Greenpeace to begin with, his fragile ego couldn’t handle that the animals were actually the focus of the operation and not him.

I have to give him some credit though apparently he’s got enough charm to hoodwink a handful of basket cases into doing his half baked bidding for him so he doesn’t have to actually expose himself to any risk.

For all you losers that think he’s fighting for the whales on your behalf, there used to be another guy you lot would probably have really enjoyed, I believe his name was Jimmy Jones.

  • Flex

I don’t know how these people even got a licence to captain a ship, after the first WW series you think whoever gives those out would revoke them?
Sadly soon someone gonna get seriously hurt or killed from a direct action of this incompetent madman.
I don’t like to see whales killed inhumanely, I don’t like to see people killed either!
By the way any of you Paul Watson groupies show me where he actually saved a whale when in fact he said himself he never saw a whale die and whales do die!

  • Krista

Yay Sea Shepherd!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Paul Watson is a HERO!!! While the Japanese are murdering thousands of innocent lives, Sea Shepherd risks their own lives to protect the oceans! Thank God one man has the balls to fight for innocent lives!

    LONG LIVE SEA SHEPHERD!!!!!!!!!

  • Patrick

I’ve never really thought about saving whales or conservation before. I have decided a few things watching WW and following the issues on google news:

    1) Greenpeace shows up and the hunt continues with the whalers holding up signs.

    2) SSCS shows up and they run like rabbits.

    3) If they are running they aren’t hunting.

    4) If the whalers weren’t poaching in an area Australian courts told them to get out of, then they deserve what they get.

5)If it were me, I wouldn’t have swerved. So the whalers can count themselves lucky. I’d have at least rammed the stern of their ship.

    6) These people may not know what they are doing but they are willing to learn. What are you doing besides whining and moaning about it?

Hey Chris if someone were slaughtering your dog in the back yard or worse yet your child would you want us to leave the culprit alone “and let the authorities deal with it” or get out there and SAVE THEM!? Hello!??

    E

  • Whoever…

All those who accuse people like the Sea Shepherd’s crew members of being extremists and crazy, are nothing but a bunch of cowards!!

Have you ever fought for anything in your life? Have you ever stood up for what you believe in? Do you believe in anything you’re truly willing to fight for!?

How easy it is to sit in front of a computer screen and trash all the activists out there!!

I bet you wouldn’t have the guts to say these same things to their face!! Of course not, you don’t have the balls!!!

People have become a bunch of sissy losers! What would all the real fighters for human and animal rights, who died for their convictions, say if they came back to life? I can see it already: “Why don’t people just stand up and fight for what’s right? Why are they so afraid? Where is their courage? Why don’t they do anything? How can they just stand by and do nothing?”

You are a disgrace! You’re so brave behind a computer screen but you are spineless cowards for whom I have no respect whatsoever!!!!

I’m also tired of people talking about diplomacy and crap like that!!! Enough of talking, enough of the damn ‘suits’!! It’s time for rough action!

Since when do the japanese whalers give a f*** about international laws or what other nations and cultures think about their pseudo scientific research regarding whaling? They just do it and don’t give a damn about the international community. So, globalization is good enough to sell us their products but then they refuse to accept criticism for some of their actions? How’s that? However they are very concerned about N. Korea. Well, N.K. is a sovereign nation… Why shouldn’t they be allowed to build nuclear weapons? Americans have it, Russians have it! Maybe it’s not so convenient for certain governments…See my point?

I’m not a fan of any NGO in particular or support any NGO directly, and I really don’t care if Mr. Watson is in it for the public attention or not. But as long as he scares the coward whalers away, I’m fine with it!

And if he sinks them, even better!!
Sea Shepherd’s crew members are there of their own free will. No one forced them to embark on that adventure and they are aware of the risks!

Another thing that pisses me off is people taking the side of big corporations, companies that test on animals, whalers, hunters, factory farming and so on… against people who are trying to prevent millions of animals of being slaughtered.
Do I need to remind you that your life means shit for all those corporations?
In this financial crisis did the CEOs and owners of those corporations, you so intensely defend, give a damn about firing millions of people all over the world in order to save a ‘few’ bucks?

Zombies… the oppressed taking the side of the oppressor! Sad, very sad!

I believe this world is in serious need of a worldwide ALF that would actually be very active in defending animal rights!! And what about a worldwide HLF? And what about a worldwide ELF as well?
This, obviously without taking any life (human – although there are many humans who are just a waste of space and resources – or non-human)!!!

Where are the Dian Fossey’s and Ken Saro-Wiwa’s of this world?

    Where…? Oh yeah, they’re DEAD!!!

    :( :( :(

  • http://RawfoodsRetreat.com Erin Raw Foods

    Whoever,

Very well said. So much so in fact I have nothing to add! This was my favorite part.

“Whoever…”, ever read speeches by extremist mullahs? They are the result of exactly the same thought model as you’re displaying in your post. Some of us recognize that extremism and adolescent lash outs with violence are not a road to a sustainable solution in any human conflict. We would be hypocrites if we did not fight the extremist tendencies within our own movements even if those extremists were nominally on “our side”.

Diplomacy, mature debate, thorough understanding both sides of the argument and willingness to seek a compromise are the only road that has ever lead to a sustainable solution in a human conflict. Actions such as those perpetrated by Sea Shepherd are only inflaming the situation and killing the credibility of the anti-whaling side of the argument, making it harder to reach the ultimate goal of protecting the whale populations from extinction.

  • Judgmental Ahole

Diplomacy and mature debate? Usually people who say things like that are the ones that raise their voice and talk over anyone who does not feel the same way they do. FAIL!

If they have to be a little more aggressive then so be it. SeaShepherds are dealing with people who have manipulated a law to their benefit, therefore I highly doubt diplomacy would work with these types. The world should probably sit down and have some nice diplomacy with North Korea and maybe then they would quit enslaving and oppressing their people and making threats against the rest of the world. Oh wait, we tried that and guess what? FAIL!

  • Doug

I watched tonight’s episode and was totally disgusted, I’ll be honest the only reason I watch is in hopes of seeing the sea shepherds sink the Steve Irwin, or the Japanese defend themselves the way I would with lethal force

  • Anonymous

Paul Watson is following and enforcing laws. If proper national or international authorities are not protecting the Antarctic Whaling Sanctuary, then you and me and Paul Watson are allowed to go enforce it. They tell the whalers that they are breaking the law, and upon recieving no reaction, they begin enforcing.
When a policeman shoots a man robbing a bank, no one makes a big deal. That’s enforcing a law. When sailors enforce a law to save innocent whales, people make a fuss over it.

  • Chris

Anonymous, just because you don’t like what the Japanese are doing doesn’t make it illegal. The Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary (there is no such thing as “Antarctic Whaling Sanctuary”), as much as we might hate it, is completely legal under the ICRW.

The whales taken by the Japanese are a part of a scientific program documented by the Japanese, results of which are reported yearly to the IWC Scientific Committee. The meat is also sold for human consumption in accordance with ICRW. That is “the law” and they are not breaking it.

And no, you, me and Paul Watson are most certainly not allowed to go enforce anything at all. He is no policeman, and the international law, which you apparently know absolutely nothing about, does not work the same way national laws work.

All the thugish behavior of Sea Shepherd could very well lead to the Japanese walking out of IWC and ICRW, allowing them to practice completely commercial whaling in the Whale Sanctuaries with no oversight at all COMPLETELY LEGALLY.

It might be legal to stone people to death in some countries but it’s still not moral or right.. I can’t believe anyone would wish for the whale hunters to succeed. That is twisted..

    Nothing else to add!!!

Except… “Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights… don’t give up the fight!!!” Truly wise words!

It’s time for a global revolution!!
    Desperate times need desperate measures!

Look at Iran… All talk and no progress! It’s the people who are making the revolution! It’s time ‘we the wise people’ take back our planet and its resources!!

Down with big corporations, lobbies and powerful interests that control us and tell us how to live our lives! I for one am sick and tired of it!

“Bureaucracy is the collective organizational structure, procedures, protocols and set of regulations in place to manage activity, usually in large organizations and government.”

“There are currently seven species of cetaceans in U.S. waters that are protected under the Endangered Species Act. They are the blue whale, the bowhead whale, the fin whale, the humpback whale, the northern light whale, the sei whale and the sperm whale. All seven species are listed as endangered.”

“Two species of whales may show the opposite extremes of what may happen in the future. Both the gray whale off of our west coast and the right whale off of our east coast were hunted to the verge of extinction. ”

WHY IS JAPAN THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT HAS A OBSESSION WITH WHALE HUNTING?

JAPAN HAS BROUGHT INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION SHOWING HOW ECONOMICALLY DESPERATE THEY HAVE BECOME SENSE THE TURN OF THEIR RECESSION, IN ORDER TO KEEP WHALING COMPANIES GOING WHICH WERE GOING BROKE, THEY UP’D THEIR QUOTA!

JAPAN HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT THEY WILL SUCK UP THE SEA IN ORDER TO KEEP THEIR SEA FOOD EXPORTS ALIVE… AMERICANS MUST STOP SUPPORTING THE LUXURIES WHICH KILL THE EARTH IN ANY FOR, JAPAN IS USING THE ADVANTAGE THAT AMERICANS GIVE A CRAP ABOUT ANYTHING INTIMATELY BESIDES PLASTIC.

How many supporters of the Sea Shepherd crew would support the same actions against abortion providers? The recipe and the act of throwing the bottles was pioneered by pro-life groups. Furthermore, do any of you realize that 80% of unnatural whale deaths come not from whaling, but collisions with ships like the “Steve Irwin”. The next largest killer is from fishing nets. The next largest killer? Its a toss up between whaling and pollution. But none of those things are either sexy to fight or as polarizing. My god people…there are much more pressing and vital things in the world to be fighting for than trying to kill over the harvesting of an animal that isn’t even threatened, let alone endangered. That is assuming you bother reading the World Wild Life data on whale populations…but what would they know…

  • Diablo

Crap…I am wrong, its 90% of unnatural whale deaths is through collisions with sea vessels. I wonder how many the Sea Shepherd has taken out over the years….

  • Whoever…

    diablo…

Instead of posting ridiculous comments like those, maybe you should do some research first:

“Independent research shows that the data may overestimate whale abundance by up to 80 per cent”
    http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20227136.100-why-japans-whaling-activities-are-not-research.html

“How many supporters of the Sea Shepherd crew would support the same actions against abortion providers?”

WTF? What does one thing have to do with the other!? What a caveman and religious fanatic you seem to be!!!

“there are much more pressing and vital things in the world to be fighting for than trying to kill over the harvesting of an animal that isn’t even threatened, let alone endangered”

First, whales are endangered and that’s why the IWC decided to stop hunting them.
Secondly, intelligent people are able to tackle several issues at the same time…
And by the way, what are you doing to change the world for the better?

It’s so easy (and very cowardly) to trash people on-line just because they’re fighting for what they believe in!! Maybe you should get off your butt and do something useful to help others instead!

  • alaexa

what they r doing is helping!! this year alone they saved 500 whales the japenaese r scread of them when they see s.s. they run away

Paul knows what he is doing he has done it all his life and is not afrid to stand up forone of themost beautiful animals

What ever kills Whales, will eventually kill human beings.

Many have protested that killing endangered wild life is no body’s business.

Whale Wars TV show is a bit understanding of the Japanese Whalers. It says whaling is legal, in certain circumstances.

WHALING IS ILLEGAL AND HAS BEEN SENSE THE 1960′S

WE SHOULD NOT EXPEND ANOTHER 50 BILLION A YEAR FOR OUR COAST GUARDS ACROSS THE WORLD WHEN VOLUNTEERS MAY BE COMMISSIONED BY NAVIES TO PATROL AND PROTECT WILD LIFE…

THIS IS ALREADY BEING DONE FOR COASTAL VESSELS BEING PROTECTED AS THEY GO TO AFRICA. AS THERE IS SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH MAN POWER TO PATROL THE MASSIVE WORLD OCEANS AND PROTECT ITS RICH LIFE FROM MODERN DAY POACHERS AND PIRATES WHO WISH TO DESTROY LIFE WHOM IS NOT IMMEDIATELY PROTECTED.

THE JAPANESE WHALERS ARE SIMPLY AN ORGANIZED GANG, PROBABLY RUN BY JAPANESE ORGANIZE CRIME.

1 SEA SHEPHERD IS NOT ENOUGH, AND THEY ARE IN DANGER WITHOUT MORE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN TO PROTECT THE MAJOR OCEANS FROM POACHING AND PIRATING AS THE WORLD DESCENDS DEEPER INTO ECONOMIC TURMOIL, ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE, AND THIS IS WHEN HEROES MAKE HISTORY

  • Christopher Norgaar

Captan Watson has shown he is fast and loose with the truth. His irresponsible actions WILL, at some point, cause someone to die. In my time at sea, I have seen many violent incodents, the Japinese Captans and crews have shown great restraint in dealing with these attacks. The vidio record proves this fact. Someday they may not show such great care for human life.
Factory whaling IS not only wrong, but repulsive to anyone who has ever seen the seas.
Someday, Captan Watson’s insanity will send his child crew to the bottom. I will morn the senseless waste of bright, if foolish, young lives to do nothing more than feed his violent bloodlust.
Hopefully Captan Watson will be jailed before his crimes include murder.

  • Agent Of The Deep Blue Cea

NO WE SHOULD NEVER PRIORITIZE THE LIVES OF PIRATES WHO ARE OUT TRYING TO END LIVES.

PIRATES AND POACHERS ARE USUALLY ALWAYS HURT IN THE ACT OF THEIR CRIMES BECAUSE OF THEIR WILL TO KEEP THEIR ILLEGAL AND UNMORAL BUSINESS IN PROCESS.

SHOULD WE BE SAD IF A WHALE WERE TO KILL A HUMAN KNOCKING HIM WITH A FIN INTO THE OCEAN?

IF YOU DO NOT POACH THERE IS NO DANGER

YOU CANNOT WALK INTO A KILLING FIELD AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR OWN SAFETY

YOU CANNOT BECOME A LAWLESS KILLER AND REACH OUT FOR HUMANE PROTECTION, IN THE PROCESS OF YOUR BLOOD-LUST.

PAUL WATSON IS A WHALE, HIS SHIP IS A WHALE NOW, PROTECTING HIS WHALE BROTHERS?

IS IT ILLEGAL FOR WHALES TO PROTECT THEIR OFFSPRING NOW?

STOP POACHING, IT IS DANGEROUS THE WHALES, AND THEIR PROTECTORS WILL ATTACK YOU.

WHY NOT WALK INTO A LIONS DEN? IS IT BECAUSE IF IT ATTACKS YOU, YOU ARE PROVOKING THE LION TO DEFEND ITSELF?

THE WHALE PAUL WATSON IS DOING THE SAME

Can we leave Peter Brown on a floating chunk of ice ?

Leave the sustainable whale eaters alone!

Watson and his idiotic over-fed groupies have been manipulating middle class neurosis for fame and profit for three decades.
First he was cuddling seals and hanging out with rich hippies to demonize sustainable seal hunters while ignoring and deflecting attention away from the plunder of the Grand Banks Cod by the fishing fleets feeding the same people who fund his silly antics.

Now he’s demonizing people whose only “crime” is to eat different species than his middle class western groupies do.

The whale eaters are not an environmental problem.
Watson and his gormless groupies use of hate propaganda dressed up as compassion is the problem.

  • Chris

I am amazed at everyone’s ferver on this site, but instead of worrying about the whales rights in the southern ocean, it would be great if the same kind of people would stand up here in America, and stop electing losers to public office. Pretty soon we are not going to have the right to even hold a debate, much less go off on a vessel to defend whales.

Vote NO on incumbents..forget Democrats of Republicans, just vote the person. Lets get some REAL change.

Watson is protecting the oceans from irresponsible poachers like the japanese whalers. These whalers are plain criminals with no respect for the environment or international laws defending whales.
The pro whale loosers on this thread should get their facts right.
Unfortunately Japan has a very bad record about endangered animals like elephants (ivory), seaturtles (turtleshell), obviously the whales, overfishing, dolhpin killing, etc.

  • IceClass

The Japanese whaling is legal as allowed by the IWC exemptions from the moratorium passed in 1986.

They are not poachers any more than Watson is an environmentalist.

Watson soapboxes on whales because it’s easier to demonize “others” than it is to take on the unsustainable practices of those that fund his self promoting antics.

Watson’s in it for fame, influence and money. The guy has a gargantuan ego and a willing legion of brainless groupie fans. The only thing he’s protecting is his brand name and image which is money in the bank.

Minke whales in the North Atlantic are a huge and healthy population which can EASILY sustain a hunt but they are listed as “endangered” purely because of the politics of anti-whaling nations who have no stake in the issue and can use seals and whales as a smoke screen to hide unsustainable practices the twerp “radicals” ignore on their own streets every day.

In this day and age there is no reason to spend billions creating an industry demonizing peoples who eat a different critter than you do.

Supporters of tosspots like Watson are the problem NOT the solution.

I REPEAT FOR THOSE SPY’S WHO ARE SPOUTING FALSE PROPAGANDA

THEIR BUSINESS IS NOT LONGER PROFITABLE SENSE NO ONE WANTS TO EAT IT, AND MORE WHALES ARE KILLED IN A ACT OF DESPERATION NOT TO HOLD ON TO AN OLD TRADITION.

WE MUST PROTECT THE SEA LIFE WITHIN REGULATION TO MAKE SURE THAT WHALES ARE PUT IN THE DIRE SITUATION SEALS ARE.

WE ARE ON THE BRINK OF MANY MORE DO-DO BIRD CASES JUST BECAUSE JAPANESE ORGANIZED CRIME FINDS AWAY TO SELL YOU THEIR VERSION OF BOOTLEGGING RUM.

Good job to the crew of the Sea Shepherd!

Question: Why go to all the trouble of circling around the ships to drop the Buteric acid and the other stuff (I forget the name of the slippery substance..) and simply hover over the ships in the chopper and chunk it out of the side of the heli while you’re directly over it?? Give the camera man the task of throwing it (a simple toss, really). You’re pretty much guaranteed putting the acid with multiple direct hits on the deck versus planning your next tactic trying to send out the small boats to circle around and land the substances on the decks which are often times futile! Or, is that illegal to “attack” from the air? Seems like the most prudent way to get “direct hits” on the boats!

I was also thinking about using the chopper, but fill a tank with the substances, and spray it over the ship like a crop duster.

These whales are contaminated with high levels of mercury, methylmercury, DDT, PCBs and other TOXIC chemicals, and are unfit for human consumption, 10 to 100 times the legal “safe” limit.
MOST of the meat is dumped overboard, and only the “prime cuts” are brought back to port where (how much) of the whale bacon goes to the black market.
Even worse, the Japanese school system is pushing Toxic meat on its schoolchildren, who are even more susceptible to the brain killing chemicals!
WE have turned the worlds oceans into a toxic waste dump, and now are killing everything in it, haven’t we done enough yet???

If the Japanese cannot do it responsibly or legally, it’s about time someone stepped in!!!

Just watched the murder of a whale on Whale Wars. Took 25 minutes to die. Funny that the only part the “researchers” keep is the stuff they sell. Just stopped buying Japanese stuff too. Will write the embassy but actually stop by since I live in the DC area. Maybe the Sea Shepherd should get a harpoon gun on the bow to use on the harpoon ships. That would be special.

So if you were to be sprayed upon by anything flying above you, wouldn’t you want to take it down? I would protect my human crew members first before any whales. I will shoot you down AFTER you spray me in attempt to defend my ship and most importantly MY CREW MEMBERS.

The Whale Warriors are willing to die for a cause greater than themselves unlike the whalers who aren’t willing to die for anything yet, kill anything in the path of their small financial gain. The Whalers deserve nothing less than treatment of pirates depleting whales in oceans they do not even own.

The Whalers deserve to capital punishment after being heard by a court for their assistance in hunting an animal to extinction.

I think the world will continue to spin very smoothly without the whalers around

  • jacoby

The Japanese do not own the ocean nor have the right to go killing animals that dwell there. If my dog or cat steps outside on the curb does the neighbor have a right to kill it and package it for sale? I don’t care how Sea Shepherd comes of to people who don’t care about the actions of the Japanese whalers…at least they’re doing something.

It’s a travesty against all animal kind and shouldn’t be overlooked. We should be seeking multiple avenues to stop this activity. They need to be shamed out of this antiquated and inhumane practice from one path and forcibly removed in another. Unfortunately many in this culture have no understanding of why this wrong; they are ignorant as shown by their actions to hunt until entire species are extent. We can look at practices like cutting shark fins for soup because it means you’re a higher class than your neighbor…or cutting of bear paws for good luck. It’s sad but it seems like action needs to happen concurrently to talks. I support any action to stop this practice!

I have only one suggestion and it goes to IceClass and Chris….stop your participation. I personally think you are cowards behind your computers and I would never want to be in your company if I were in danger from anything – you would be useless………please – go away.

Okay, im not saying i know the laws and everything about whaling, but if the Japanese were actually doing scientific research on the whales don’t you think they would do it the way that would be the best for the whales which we now have a way of doing research without killing the whales.
The Sea Sheperds are just standing up for what they believe is right and taking action against people that are killing innocent whales for profit.
Maybe things would be different if the whalers were actually doing whale research without killing the whales instead of killing them for profit.

  • sav

and to IceClass, Im sorry but you just seem like a jerk that cant find anything better to do than to sit at your keyboard and critize people that are risking their lives everyday to save whales, which are some of the most beautiful animals on the planet.
And just because the law might permit “research” on whales, which shouldnt even involve killing them, doesnt mean its right.
And i am not some “groupie” for you to critize either. I think its a great thing that the Sea Sheperds are acting against these so called whale “researchers”

  • Death to the Whalers

I am stopping in to support the fight against these horrbile monsters. Research…. b.s. plain and simple, this is murder for financial gain. So convenient that they start this “research group” the very next year after the world forces them to follow the new whaling laws.

I would give anything to be out there on the Sea Shepard fighting along side those brave people. Go SEA SHEPARD!!!
