  1. what about bubbles?? having a pet chimp isn’t really very ethical.

  2. Just awesome of them to piggyback on a celebrity’s death. They’re just made of awesome, aren’t they?

  3. what’s your beef….pardon the pun…with peta?

  4. Jen: Funny you should ask.
(Now I’ll see if links can be made in comments at this site. If the link in this comment doesn’t work, the link on my screen name should.)

  5. stimp- saw your post, but it did nothing for me… have you watched the doc, FOOD, INC?..now playing. if not, you should …good education

  6. Yeah, that doc looks awesome. Sorry my post “did nothing” for ya. (Why do I feel like an apologetic porn star?)

  7. Stimp: i saw yur post too. if you hate vegetarians so much, why are you even on this site?

  8. s: read the post again. It’s not “my beef with vegetarians”; it’s “my beef with PETA”. Big difference.

Besides, environmentalism does not equal vegetarianism. And I maintain a veg diet five days a week myself, for healtgh and environmental reasons. Again, read the post. And read the comments attached to it.

And work on your reading comprehension.

  9. Stimp- PETA rocks! Why is it that you dont like them…guess my reading comprehension is off too?

RE: “environmentalism does not equal vegetarianism”…. think again:

According to a new report published by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the livestock sector generates more greenhouse gas emissions as measured in CO2 equivalent – 18 percent – than transport. It is also a major source of land and water degradation.

Says Henning Steinfeld, Chief of FAO’s Livestock Information and Policy Branch and senior author of the report: “Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems. Urgent action is required to remedy the situation.”

With increased prosperity, people are consuming more meat and dairy products every year. Global meat production is projected to more than double from 229 million tonnes in 1999/2001 to 465 million tonnes in 2050, while milk output is set to climb from 580 to 1043 million tonnes.
