bullrun

Another “Running of the Bulls” in Spain has passed. This time, in addition to the deaths of mostly all the bulls involved, a 27-year-old Spanish man was killed. So we were wondering:

This should be stopped a long time ago. See also this video http://tinyurl.com/lq25l6

Would the tigers be killed following the event? If not, then by all means, let ‘em run. If so, I vote cancel.

The lions would be sent to a sanctuary after the event. The humans, however, will probably be not so lucky.

I don’t think they should stop the running of the bulls. Jumping out of a plane is dangerous too, but people pay to do it.

I say send in the tigers to take out those idiot humans, as long as the tigers don’t get hurt that is.
The people participating in this cruel event deserve to be hurt, and I don’t feel the least bit bad for them.

The fact that this question even needs to be asked is depressing. Apparently preventing cruelty isn’t as self-evident as I would have thought.

@L — Mekesha’s asinine analogy answers that nicely.

Jumping out of planes is a CHOICE made by humans…Bulls surely aren’t choosing to participate in this barbaric ritual…esp. knowing their fate at the end of it. Not that I know what bulls think…just trying to make a point. LOL!

    lol Michael… funny ;)

    Rachelle, well said.

I guess with her logic we should let people be paid to fight lions in a colluseum too… (rolls eyes ;)

Since I am Spanish … born in Spain … I feel a need to comment on this tradition. You know what many people in Spain will say that traditions are important to continue because these are what make up a countries heritage. I find this great if it does not involve torturing and killing animals for fun. I personally could care less about what this part of my countries Heritage. This is just terrible and there is no point to it but to test some idiots massive ego out. Later they put the bulls in a ring against torturing spears and then when it is exhausted they spear it in the back…
Yeah this is nothing to be proud of or to celebrate. This is an embarrassment and I am ashamed that my country still participates in such a foolish tradition.

  • Whoever…

    @ mekesha pryer and rick…

    Pathetic!!!

I live in a country (Spain is our neighbour btw) where bullfighting is still allowed, even though more and more people are against it.

The excuse of tradition and culture can no longer be used to perpetuate these barbaric practices! Culture should be a positive thing, not something which involves torturing or abusing animals. And the bulls, contrary to those imbecile humans, are not there of their own free will.

According to your line of reasoning, throwing Christians to the lions shouldn’t also have been banned, nor public executions for that matter!

I say bring back gladiators fighting in an arena – I would like to see if those brave ‘men’ and ‘women’ would be so willing to jump into an arena and fight another human to death!!!

Humans… I wish all of those who go see
the ‘Running of the Bulls’ would die an agonizing death!!! Savages!!!

    :) ;) :)

I answered tigers, but just tongue-in-cheek. It didn’t occur to me that those barbarians may want to kill the tigers, too. I hope someday this brutal form of idiocy will end.

And yes, people do jump out of planes and bungee jump and do all sorts of crazy things. But they CHOOSE to do it, and unless something goes wrong, nobody is going to be killed at the end of it.

And am I totally evil for relishing each report of some knucklehead who gets gored at pamplona? The bull is probably fighting for his life here!

They got rid of the ritual in which a goat is lynched off the side of a tower so I think its time this was retired. How many people are gonna die for this? Its a brutal spectator sport.
