If livestock are fed their natural diet, they produce very little methane. Reducing the amount of meat one eats can have a profound impact, and is easier than the unlikely solution of a world of herbivorous humans.

Actually, the best way to reduce your impact isn’t to have 2 kids. Most people who have 1 or 2 kids are Americans and their family carbon footprints are huge!

Why? Because those one or two child families tend to over consume everything from clothes and processed, over packaged food to toys. Reuse reduce regift recycle.

Here’s a tip: buy used jeans and embellish them instead of buying preabused jeans that take more energy to produce.
Nothing is more pathetic than the amount of clothing americans send to the landfill!

also, i’m sure many will blame those in developing countries. the big difference is that we, in north america, are aware of the issues (due to universal access to education and mainstream media). therefore, we have the greater obligation to practice conscious procreation.

you got it, beforewisdom. a recent study supports your point about limiting offspring, or going childfree, period. so many people want to reduce their carbon footprint, but insist on bringing as many kids into the world as they want. just because you can afford it, doesn’t mean the earth can.

unfortunately, all this seemingly “green” goodness won’t make nearly as much of an impact as supporting the elimination of raising livestock. the meat industry, alone, contributes unspeakable amounts of greenhouse gases (through methane, amongst other animal-produced gases). unless soleil and her high-profile friends are also vegetarian, little seed is nothing more than a token gesture, trying to pass itself off as legitimate environmentalism.

Ashton looks bored, lol.

We went with all organic diapers for our little one and I think it minimized the amount of rashes she had during those first few months. Well worth the money to prevent her discomfort as she adjusts to the world.

the softest organic baby clothes i’ve found yet are made by sami baby out of bamboo… plus they’ve got the cutest little panda on the front of their tees
