Depp Tops Treehugger's Greenest Homes List

Treehugger has put together a list of the top 7 (someone’s lucky number, maybe?) most fabulously green celebrity homes.  While most of the names are expected (Ed Begley Jr., Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Daryl Hannah, etc.) the list-topper was a bit of a surprise. It seems that Johnny Depp’s, ahem, private Caribbean Island is a solar paradise of pirate proportions. I’d like to do the math on the carbon emissions it takes to get to the island from…well, anywhere else.  But I’m sure it’s quite worthy. (Editor’s note: Depp’s island will soon be charged with renewable energy from a solar-hydrogen system.)

Also, I’m now realizing that I’d skimmed over the “fabulously” in the title of the list, which somehow makes it okay that Begley barely squeaked in at 6th place. Check out the full seven here.
