We’ve been covering the British eco-documentary The Age of Stupid, and the green antics of its star, Pete Postlethwaite from a distance for a while and it’s finally ready to cross the pond!

Variety is reporting that the film “will take its bow in a solar-powered cinema tent in New York’s Central Park” on September 21. Arts Alliance Media says that “this ‘green-carpet’ event will produce 1% of the carbon emissions of a traditional film premiere.”

Filmmakers and collaborators have also upped the ante with their engaging and well-designed microsite, Not Stupid, which is currently focused on the upcoming climate talks in Copenhagen and provides a ton of features and information to help people get educated and active on these serious issues.

They’ve also taken on some unorthodox culture jamming methods to get their voice heard around the world and have made their screenings vibrant displays of extreme green. Stop by Not Stupid and The Age of Stupid for more info and get inspired. Be sure to pick up some “Stupid” stickers to stick on, oh, I don’t know, Hummers?
