The Green Quote: Hugh Grant Reveals Bear Treatment On The Set Of New Movie

“He wouldn’t come out of his trailer until he had 12 cans of iced tea and had been hosed down from head to foot. And then the crew had to applaud and say, ‘Yay, Bart, you’re so great.’ Sarah Jessica and I got jealous, so the crew had to do that for us as well.”
“If the bear was doing particularly well, its trainer would wrestle him on the floor in this crazy, wrestle-y cuddle. So I made (director) Marc (Lawrence) do that to me if I ever did a scene well.”
- Hugh Grant joking about Bart, his bear co-star, getting special treatment on the set of “Did You Hear About The Morgans?” . We love a sense of humor, but know the dangers and cruelty involved in using wild animals for entertainment. A big thumbs down on this one!

I agree 100% No need to use animals in films at all! Again they’re being forced to entertain us and obviously that’s not what they’re purpose is. I’ve always thought Hugh Grant was a cutie (even after the stupid (think arrest in LA) things he’s done.. but he’s getting less attractive by the minute.

I’m an animal lover who has a really hard time with people joking about animal cruelty. I was absolutely terrified by the movie Ratatouille because the poor rat kept getting into dangerous situations and making me worry about his well-being, even though he was fictional. I can’t laugh at the cat lady on the Simpsons who often waves her yowling cats around by their tails. But I thought this was funny. He knows that the bear gets (and deserves) special treatment and was just speculating what it might be like if human actors were treated like animal actors. I am sure that, if the animal plays a major role in the movie, they are treating him very well, and jokingly comparing him to a demanding human movie star is all in good fun.
