While we regularly cover end-of-the-world films here on the Razz, none have been as eagerly awaited as Roland Emmerich’s 2012. The director, who brought us such wonderfully destructive flicks like Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, has found a new excuse to wipe us off the face of the planet with a Mayan prophecy. Although nobody can say for sure why the Mayans found significance in this date, Emmerich’s movie interprets it as Armageddon — with California sinking into the sea, the White House getting hit by a giant tidal wave (and aircraft carrier simultaneously), and lots, lots, lots of explosions.

And John Cusack.

MTV recently scored an exclusive clip — which mean you’ll have to sit through an excruciating 15-second tween commercial in the beginning. Nonetheless, if you’re a fan of watching the impossible on the big screen — and lapping up moments of implausibility, please see below.
