Fashion designer and America’s Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker is picking up the old camera and getting involved with an ad campaign to help the millions of people suffering with breast cancer.

Barker is working with Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) — an organization considered to be the “worldwide fashion community’s singular and most successful response to breast cancer.”

To celebrate their 15th anniversary, the Council of Fashion Designers of America is working with QVC to launch QVC Designer Charms for Charity.  Barker helped the cause by doing a shoot for the campaign with model Veronica Webb.  According to Nigel’s blog:

“The shoot was a blast with everyone doing their bit in support of the great cause. Milk Studios donated the studio and equipment, Veronica Webb was my model (lucky me!) and of course raises the profile of the charms campaign significantly.”

The charms will be priced from about $20 to $100 and 100 percent of net proceeds will go to FTBC. Visit FashionTargetsBreastCancer.org to learn more!

FTBC is affiliated with organizations like the Susan Komen foundation which torture animals in needless experiments.

Breast cancer campaigns won’t make a dent until the groups sponsoring them start targeting the environmental causes of the disease, like dangerous chemicals in mainstream cosmetics, and nuclear radiation from leaking power plants like Indian Point in New York!

I’m so glad to see people like nigel and others in the fashion industry making their efforts to raise money available to the general public. Its great that they hold events like they do, but to allow the rest of us to be involved in such a big event is great! I wish I could do something like that for other foundations such as a research for lupus or other causes.

I think that by doing photo shoots is a waste of time. How is that helping breast cancer. Its not finding a cure, with that money they should save it to help find a cure! Not for a photo shoot. What’s a picture going to do for the people who do have cancer. But i still love Nigel Barker and i always see Americas Next Top Model.
