Greenlit is a very entertaining and insightful documentary. Miranda Bailey's provides an entertaining and quirky host to an issue previously not discussed, Hollywood's impact on the environment. I would highly recommend it to any filmmaker attempting to minimize their carbon footprint.

Hi!
I saw this documentary during a film festival here in Costa Rica...I just loved it and we are developing a recycling program in the town of Montezuma, I and thought it would be great to play this movie for the community here. My question is does somebody know here if where or how i can get the Spanish subtitles for this documentary?

I run a small production company, Conservation Media, that creates conservation-based media, typically for non-profits. We use green filmmaking techniques in the production process, among them LED lighting kits. We also use solar power to charge the batteries that power the LED panels. Turning sunlight back into white-balanced light-on-demand is a beautiful thing. I can even run a handful of lights LIVE off the sun during an interview. For the small production company, LED lights are certainly not cost prohibitive. A three light kit with dimmers would only run about $900 USD. There really is not reason to go with anything else!

Cheers,

I'm a big fan of Lauren Selman's work. She's doing what the Environmental Media Association and Earth Communications Office should have started doing seriously long ago, not just green the stars, but also focus on the trades and unions.

We put Lauren in touch with Andy Neal, a leader in LED systems, who has a background in film and stage lighting design. Andy is anxious to create lighting systems so light weight, so energy efficient, it's going to revolutionize how film sets are being lit... no more noisy generators, no more wasteful and costly arc lights.

LitePanel already makes LED lighting systems for photo and video studios... their LED lens ring is a popular accessory. But the cost of their gear limits them it to an exclusive group. Andy has figured out ways to dramatically increase efficiency and reduce cost so that his equipment will make LEDs available to all entertainment professionals.
