My Thanksgiving tradition for the past few years has been to attend the local vegetarian society's Life-Affirming Thanksgiving Celebration, and my boyfriend and I will probably go again this year.

I did this last year for a few of my relatives. Every one of them told me, after, that they felt guilty for making a turkey after. Sadly, not guilty enough to not plan a meat thanksgiving this year, but I'm going to just keep adopting turkeys and sending my meat-eating relatives the adopt cards!

This year my husband and i (the only two vegetarians in our immediate family) will spend Thanksgiving at my brother/sister in law's house. It was decided by the hostess that she did not want to cook up a turkey so we will do it potluck style; my husband and i will bring up two dishes (cruelty free), my other brother in law will do the same, plus the host/hostess dishes. It will be a nice Thanksgiving without the reminder that there is a dead bird in the center of the table. I plan in bringing delicious dishes so that our relatives can see that vegetarians DO IT better...the cooking, that is ;)
