Singing sensation and veggie rockstar Leona Lewis is teaming up with the World Society for the Protection of Animals to help end suffering.

Lewis recently filmed a PSA for the organization which claims to be “the world’s largest alliance of animal welfare organizations.”  With over 1,000 animal welfare groups in about 150 countries, we think that sounds just about right.

In the video, Leona says:

“Many years ago, I promised that I’d do all I could to care for animals. Now I make careful choices like the food I eat and the things I buy.”

“One reason animals are so vulnerable to cruelty is because there is no universal agreement between nations that animals can suffer and feel pain… The campaign for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare could be the beginning of the end for animal cruelty across the world. It’s up to us to give these animals a voice, and put a stop to cruelty and neglect, right now.”
