I think I saw that clip, John. One of the investigators wonders how someone could do that to a human, and I guess Deschanel's character (I don't watch the show) says, "How can anyone do that to *hogs*? I just became a vegetarian." That episode was nominated for a Genesis Award.

Bones also did an episode a couple of seasons ago wherein someone was killed with a pneumatic hog slaughter device. “No human being deserves to die like that,“ her colleague says. “No ANIMAL deserves to die like that,” she replies. After this factory farming episode I’d be compelled to make Bones a regular, if only I had a TV. I still have cable (it lowers the cost of my internet), just no TV to watch it on for about three months now. I’ve had about three offers of replacement TV’s, though, and turned them down. Not having TV is so liberating. Don’t take my word for it: try it.

Yours truly,

Still makes me wonder how effective the message of the show is.
David Boreanaz is one hunk of meat I'D like to take a bite out of. ; )

I really dug this episode. The pic of the pig was so cute and although it was just a gesture, it was a meaningful one. I loved that Bones was a vegetarian for health reasons:)

Yay for exposing factory farming through prime time dramas!
