If you guys are talking about the JDRF article, I can't believe you would be so insensitive. JDRF does get insulin from animals, yeah, to keep us alive! And it's not JDRF who does that actually, it's any insulin manufacture. Every 21 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes, and without insulin THEY WOULD DIE. You have no idea how much hardship every diabetic goes through. It's harder than anything you've ever had to do, and while we're at it, JDRF WORKS FOR TYPE 1 DIABETES. THAT IS CAUSED JUST HOW CANCER IS CAUSE...RANDOMLY. IT JUST HAPPENS. *IT'S NOT FROM BEING FAT, OK?????*

Have to agree with Dave - this article, complete with incorrect acronym - does not belong here. Any "charity" that mutilates animals has no place in a "green" society.

Dave -- We cover all levels of philanthropy, not just those related to the environment. How we take care of ourselves is just as important as how we treat the planet. It's all interconnected.

How exactly is this related to the environment? Or, is "environment" now just a catch-all phrase?
