OMG, this is too cute! I plan on remaining green by not serving animals or animal by-products and to be “greener” by replacing my paper napkins with cloth. (My niece and nephew are messy so this will save a tree or two!)

  • http://twitter.com/melissak85 Melissa K.

Cute t-shirt! Tofu is my favorite (I’m a vegetarian)! I will have to add that to my huge graphic tee collection ( http://www.shop.com/graphic+tee?g=1&k=24 ).

    Happy Shopping,

    Melissa K.

Alright, that’s pretty funny. I love that the tofu is smiling as it is being chopped in the head.

That is hilarious! I am all about wearing shirts like this!

I’m going green this year by completely honoring my veganism and not attending or supporting any Thanksgiving events that involve dead animals. Also I adopted a handsome turkey from Farm Sanctuary (www.adoptaturkey.org).

I plan on going green this Thanksgiving by preparing my family their first vegan dinner!!!

  • http://a-soy-bean.blogspot.com/ ASB

I’m going green this year by unapologetically serving an all-vegan feast to my vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore guests.

This shirt would be a great counter to my Dad’s traditional “Official Turkey Taster” tee (no, I’m not kidding; this really exists and there’s a picture of a cartoon turkey on it).

my pet’s name is tofu, I eat tofu and sell tofu! <3

  • michelle

My husband and I are going green this Thanksgiving by taking the family dinner into our own hands. We will be serving a huge all veg dinner. Our menu will include all local organic produce. Even our place setting are green. We have pottery made by local artists who use “cow power” (http://www.cvps.com/cowpower/) electricity and renewable clay for their creations. (Oh and handmade by me clothe napkins and tablecloth!)

We wanted our dinner to show our gratitude to our local economy and to support our ethical choices.

Have a happy “Tofurkey” Day everyone!!

  • Heather

I plan on going green by introducing all of my family and friends to the great foods of a vegetarian diet. No animal products this year!
    Happy Thanksgiving!!

  • john bates

Been vegetarian since 1995. . .have a friend experiencing her first vegetarian Thanksgiving this year. . .so helping her by giving food ideas.

I would love to get this tee to wear on Thanksgiving!

This year, I still plan on having dinner with my non-veggie parents. I actually talked them into making all side dishes veggie friendly [flour gravy, noodles not boiled with turkey insides :( , etc]. They still plan on getting a turkey but they are making a tofurkey for me as well. I think this is a good compromise between carnivores and veggies. I still wish that the turkey wouldn’t be a part of their meal, but I think I made quite an improvement in getting them to go green for Thanksgiving.

I am making a vegan berry cheesecake from Alicia’s The Kind Diet book.

We plan on preparing an entirely vegan meal. Tofurkey, anyone? What’s more, everything will be cooked using slow cookers (crock pots), which use less than 2 cents of electrical power per hour. I’m hoping to have a solar oven by this time next year! Please Santa!

  • Corinne Hauser-Thompson

I am hosting the first Thanksgiving ever at my house. I have told the family we are going green this year. My family is ravenous carnivores. One actually owns a PETA (people for eating of animals) shirt. I am planning on serving a totally vegan meal. I have been prepping recipes all year. Most of the meal will be vegetables grown in my garden. We will be using cloth rather than paper. I have asked the entire family to carpool. I am most excited to introduce them to my compost bin. I have been composting for a short time but am very excited about it. I purchased an extra bin in hopes that one of my family will be interested in it. I am hoping that they will at least become more conscious of the easy things they can do to be green.

  • Kirsten H.

how do you plan on going green this Thanksgiving? By NOT eating turkey and all the trimmings! I’ve been a vegan now for three years and I love the taste of tofu! I will proudly be eating Tofurky this Thanksgiving with sweet potato fries and vegan pumpkin pie. And I’m sure to include a Dairy-Free Tofu Cheesecake to go along with that too!

  • http://none dorklepork

Cute and just creepy enough, hehe.

I’m greening it up with an organic vegan Thanksgiving feast and a turkey adoption from Farm Sanctuary. Everyone should get to gobble, I say!

  • http://www.flickr.com/photos/spacekace Shannon

I’m going green this Thanksgiving by making a tofurkey and veggie gravy, and try to convince my family to try it too. Also I’m thinking of making Sparkling Ginger Cookies from Isa Chandra’s Vegan With a Vengeance. Yum!

  • http://www.chompvegan.wordpress.com Joshua L

i plan on going green this thanksgiving by having a VEGAN thanksgiving dinner with my friends and co workers. we are using NO paper plates or “disposable” forks and knives. We also are only eating organic, no gmo foods. we also compost any food scraps we may have. IF we have any… lol

To support PETA and Earth Positive, I am applying for a position at PETA this evening. Not only do I always support animal rights and practice a green lifestyle by recycling, reducing and reusing, but I plan to continue that practice for a lifetime while encourage others to do the same. I am a fan of PETA on Facebook and actively participate in PETA’s efforts to help animals. For example, today I not only sent PETA’s suggested letter to Lowe’s requesting they take Glue Traps of their shelves, but I added a very personal few paragraphs to it. Then, I did the same thing using an alternate e-mail address and convinced my mother and her boyfriend to send the letter also. I REALLY LOVE THIS SHIRT AND I THINK IT WOULD BE THE PERFECT CONVERSATION-STARTER TO INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT LIVING GREEN AND ANIMAL RIGHTS!

  • Katie Knows

Hey, I’m going to stay even greener by convincing my family to eat vegan that evening. As I am a vegan for more than 5 years now I know how and what to cook that they like it :)

  • Sara Brennan

I absolutely am in LOVE with this t-shirt. I enter these contests all the time.. I never win, but I keep trying! I have now been a vegetarian for 3 years, and I can honestly say it has been the best decision I have ever made in my life! There are just so many reasons why people shouldn’t eat meat (or meat products) including; a healthier lifestyle, and not supporting factory farming and all animal cruelty. I have been trying to be as “green” as possible. Like other people have said, I have been using cloth opposed to napkins, and china verses paper plates/silverware. Each week at home (house of 3), we fill up 3 recycle bins and no more than half of a waste bag! Also, right now I am helping a friend spread the word about 900 greyhounds that need to be adopted! She contributed to the closing of a greyhound racing dog center. So if you, a family member, or friend would like to save a greyhound please call 312-559-0887 and ask for Joanne. She represents the adoption center. I’m so glad that this dog racing center is finally shut down!

  • http://www.adoptaturkey.org David

I’m being green this Thanksgiving by working for Farm Sanctuary and encouraging folks to sponsor turkeys through Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt A Turkey Project instead of eating them!

  • Susan Riley Stewart

I plan on going green by letting my 16-year-old vegan cook a vegan Thanksgiving. Featuring a Tofurkey and all the fixings!

  • Elizabeth

I used to boycott events where there would be animals served but I realized I could do much more good if I attended and brought a vegetarian dish to share. Boycotting family events really just makes people dislike you and vegetarianism more. This I’ve learned the hard way. I married a carnivore who is slowly morphing into a vegetarian diet [I've got him down to cageless poultry and wild caught fish!]

This year, instead of hosting because we are college students, we’ll be attending Thanksgiving with his two sets of Grandparents, our Bishop, and his adopted extended family. This gives me FOUR chances to introduce people to a vegetarian dish they’d like! I’m thinking pumpkin cranberry bread with a homemade “tofurky.” The store bought kind tastes rubbery and it’s more encouraging to tell people they can make it themselves. I’ll just “happen” to have the recipes on my iPhone and email them to everyone who asks. The best part is that because I’m bringing a dish- I’ll have a container to take home leftovers, which is often unavoidable. :)

Have a Happy Turkey Day and Go Pet a Turkey!

  • El

Unfortunately, attending family friend’s Thanksgiving dinner, so can’t control what they’re cooking. Best I can do is make my own vegan gravy, mash potatoes, and a yet unknown entree, and use a reusable container to carry and eat them in. Plus, carpooling with other family members, so less gas wasted.

  • LindsayE

This thanksgiving I am the one in charge, which is a GOOD thing. We aren’t buying anything in a can, all of the fruit and veg are coming from the organic farm from down the street or in my parents’ or uncle’s yard and the stuffing is made from homemade bread from my oven.
I’ve been making separate food for myself and bringing it to other dinners for years, but all of a sudden my family realized my food tastes better than theirs. I’m glad they finally realized a homemade thanksgiving that doesn’t necessarily have a giant turkey isn’t the worst thing in the world!

  • http://www.wix.com/pamalawilson/photos Pamala Wilson

Each year, I create a huge vegan Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin’s and take it over to my family’s house. All the meat eaters try everything and they’re usually surprised to learn that “cheese” cake made with tofu is pretty darn good or that you can indeed make a tasty dressing without using turkey. I also bring the leftovers to friends at work and I’ve managed to convert a few meat eaters to vegetarianism.

  • http://ourgreenyear.blogspot.com Craig Baird

Well we had our thanksgiving last month here in Canada, but we chose to have a complete veggie thanksgiving without a bird. It turned out great. We also did the same last Christmas and found that you can enjoy both holidays that much more without a Turkey and just eating vegetables you grew in your own garden.

  • Jduff

Told my mom that I will supply a number of her staple dishes, made veg using local co-op items. w00t!

  • Kathryn20000

Hi-my disposable plates are green safe and not driving anywheres! im making macaroni and cheese homemade with bread crumbs on top and cranberry sauce and cottage cheese by cabot :) keeping it simple.its oonly my hubby and myself,a 1st in over 13 years…I am a late bloomer, living “3 r’s”-at least now im making effort stronger than ever before.my kitty “otis” is doing much much better without table scraps.I actually read article at a peta site,I honestly never knew just how bad it was for him. have a great T~day all :)

  • http://sistersvegan.blogspot.com Megan

We’re having a vegan Thanksgiving! Nothing greener than that!

  • Bethany

I will be eating vegan! I will be the only one, unfortunately, but I plan on making vegan dishes that my family can share! I will be carpooling with my parents to my aunt and uncle’s house, too.

  • Gianna

I plan on doing my first vegetarian thanksgiving. i recently became vegetarian (in february 09) and have not done this yet. i amd looking for new recipes that will hopefully turn into my new traditional thanksgiving meal! wish me luck!!

  • James

Although I’m English, my American friends are homesick and we’re having a vegan thanksgiving feast to help them out a bit. Tofurky being the main thing, we’re also having vegan dishes from around the world too. I’ve also just adopted two adorable turkeys, saving them from an English Christmas fate. Christopher and JD are very happy, and my chickens seem to have taken them under their wings (pun intended :P ) to make one big fowl family! 75% of our power comes from solar panels/wind turbines, and all the vegetables for dinner will come from my patch.

  • http://beautydesignlife.blogspot.com Erin

Last year for Thanksgiving, my family and I visited my sister in Texas, where I reneged on my vegetarianism and ate turkey, tacos and barbecue. This year I’ve resolved to do none of those things, so my green resolution is to stay true & healthy and not eat meat!!!

  • http://cuppapixie.blogspot.com leslie

I’m making vegan pumpkin cheesecake and brussels sprouts from Vegan Soul Kitchen to green-up my family’s Thanksgiving meal.

  • Shannon

I’m making a tofuturkey this year for the first time along with buying my green beans, potatoes, corn, pumpkin and apples from a local farmer’s market. Our family isn’t very big so we don’t consume too much but we always use regular dish wear and cloth napkins during family dinners. We try our best to always be as green as possible & trying our best to not eat meat either.

  • Amy

Vegan thanksgiving dinner! No paper products, either. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Leona

Love the shirt! Well being Canadian we had a very vegan Thanksgiving last month. I have been veggie for 27 years and my husband for 36 years. We compost, recycle and buy local organic produce as much as possible.
    Happy Thanksgiving!!

  • Myra

No turkey on our table on Thanksgiving day. We will indulge in a Tofurky Vegan Roast:)

  • http://www.easyvegan.info kelly g.

My husband, my dog-kids and I will all be eating vegan, of course!

  • veganboilermaker

Why, having a vegan Thanksgiving feast, of course. I volunteer to bring as many of the dishes to my family dinner as possible, I don’t tell people that it’s vegan, and after they’ve thoroughly enjoyed their meal I disclose that all the dishes I brought were vegan. Generally my contributions consist of mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, dressing, rolls, gravy, cranberry sauce, and pie.
