Google has released their year-end 2009 Zeitgeist — a collection of the most popular search queries out of the billions performed each year through the search engine. Globally, requests for information on Michael Jackson (most likely after his passing) tops the “Fastest Rising” category, followed by others like Facebook, Twitter, and New Moon. We also thought it interesting that under the global “Fastest Rising in Food and Drink” category, “picnics” came in second behind “acai berry”. Are more people worldwide getting out and enjoying food and drink outdoors? We hope so.

Then again, one can never be too sure as to the context of a search. Take for instance the category “Health and Wellness”. In the Top 10 are none other than “Rush Limbaugh” and “Glenn Beck”.

That’s enough to give anyone a heart attack.
