Hey, I like my soy ice cream, and I don’t think there’s a thing wrong with that. I’m just not a coconut person.

Sadly, there’s no mass marketer for it, but I’ve had nut-milk ice creams at Pure Food and Wine and at Lula’s Apothecary, both in NYC, and the nut milk ice creams have amazing texture. I should try with my ice cream maker.

i agree , “ethically produced dairy” is bs.
but, i did read the interview with Natalie Portman and didnt see this quote. i also Googled and only did find this supposedly Portman dairy quote quoted on a veggie website, without any references to any Portman interview that i can actually read. In short, it seems one of those indirect quotes that suddenly pop up from nowhere and can be the start of a long e-rumor / gossip.
If Nat says she turned vegan after reading Eating Animals, i believe her until solid proof proves diferent.

A Holiday Thought…

Aren’t humans amazing Animals? They kill wildlife – birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.

Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal – - health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.

So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions of more animals to look for cures for these diseases.

Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.

Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and once a year send out cards praying for “Peace on Earth.”

“Rice Dream and soy milk ice cream?” Somebody please get this girl some Purely Decadent Made with Coconut Milk! It’s better than any dairy ice cream I’ve ever eaten and doesn’t have a weird aftertaste, like Coconut Bliss.

I love the Purely Decadent soy ice creams, especially the Pomegranate Chip and Peanut Butter Zig Zag.
