Another ten years of excellence in documentary filmmaking is coming to a close — and perhaps more than any other genre, the environmental scene witnessed an explosion of movies covering all manner of subjects.

It was rough work, but we boiled down the films made under the green banner during the ’00s down to 10. While we’re sure you’ll agree that all deserve to be on this list, no doubt you also have a favorite that’s missing. Please feel free to share below any we neglected — and/or praise for those that changed your perspective on the world.

You missed one that has as much potential social impact as any dealing with the climate change or our need for oil and gas. The documentary is “Tapped” about the bottled water industry and how they are using this as a ploy to control all of the water supplies around the world. Long trem water will be as critical as the air we breath. While the movie could use some editing, it is as searing an indictment of an industry as Karen Silkwood.

What about Al Gore’s film, “An Incoveniently Wasteful McMansion Which I Own And Which Wastes $30,000+ Of Energy Per Year”? I hear it’s pretty good. What a frickin’ hippie-crite.
