Another ten years of excellence in documentary filmmaking is coming to a close — and perhaps more than any other genre, the environmental scene witnessed an explosion of movies covering all manner of subjects.

It was rough work, but we boiled down the films made under the green banner during the ’00s down to 10. While we’re sure you’ll agree that all deserve to be on this list, no doubt you also have a favorite that’s missing.
