‘Harpooned’ Video Game Lets You Play As Japanese Whalers

If you’ve ever wanted to see what it’s like to take on the role of a Japanese whaler hiding behind the veil of “scientific research”, Harpooned may just be what you’re looking for.

Billed as a “Japanese Cetacean Research Simulator”, the game is a shoot ‘em up in which the whales are your targets. But watch our for those pesky protestors! One hit and it will cost you $$ in legal fees. Your goal is to deliver as much whale meat as possible so that it can be turned into pet food and burgers.

“This is pretty much how the Japanese government officially justifies sending out a fleet every year to explode a bunch of whales: They paint “Research” on the side of the ships. All that science just happens to make for good eating.     Why penalised for hitting the eco-terrorists? One should be rewarded for contributing to global anti-piracy efforts and restoring peace and order to the high seas.

    Otherwise, the game sounds like great fun and I look forward to giving it a go!

      lets see, non-profit group thats never killed or harmed anybody, or group that kills endangered specis for profit, destroys ships, and has had sevral people on there ships die, and has harmed a few people from group 1. who the terrorist?

      That is an easy question to answer joe. The terrorists are the non-profit group, who are breaking the law and have no authority for the actions they take. Versus the group that has a legal right to conduct the operations they are involved in and whose leader and president isn’t a convicted felon.
