While rumors of a Captain Planet movie have come and gone throughout the years, those holding out hope can look towards M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender for a taste of how a live-action version might look on the big screen. In many ways, Airbender carries several themes of the Captain Planet series — people who can control the elements, one who can control them all — but without a blue-skinned, tight-wearing superhero.
