TWW-003199“The intelligent, social, ocean animals kept in the most pitifully small tanks at SeaWorld are denied everything that is natural and important to them. In the wild, they swim up to 100 miles a day in the open ocean, but captured dolphins are confined to small tanks where the reverberations from their own sonar bounce off the walls, driving some of them insane. Some of these animals were violently captured from their homes, many are forced to learn circus-style tricks, and according to whistleblower tips from trainers, withholding food and isolating animals who refuse to perform are common training methods. The only thing that people learn from visiting a SeaWorld theme park is how miserable life is for animals held there.”

- Bob Barker speaking out about the tragic death of a killer whale trainer in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday. We agree with Bob and think that SeaWorld should seriously consider shutting its doors. As evidenced here, nothing good can happen by holding these magnificent animals hostage as tourist attractions.

If there were a like button i’d definitely push it….

Bob Barker is right on (and such an amazing passionate caring man)

How far must you shove your head in the sand and this so one dimentionally? Very few if any of these creatures are stollen from their “homes” and captured to become a puppet for their show. The majority of them are rescued and have their lives restored but unfortunately the time it takes they become acclimated to their unnatural surroundings and would not survive in the wild. In the instance that that will survive they are returned to the wild and released with a new lease on life. People need to “grow” up before they simply try to “go” green it’s just not that simple.

Christopher, did you not get enough hugs as child? Or, are you naturally apathetic?

        lol Gavin.. good one.

I’d say judging by Christopher’s misspellings that he could very well *be* a small child…..

Pretty sad… Keep telling yourself that Christopher. That’s right they go rescue all the “hurt” animals in the wild and give them nice homes at sea world. LOL

YOU ARE A DUMBASS AND YOUR THE ONE WITH YOUR HEAD IN YOUR ASS. IVE DONE THE REAEARCH AND THE WHALE TILLY WAS VIOLENTLY CAPTURED FROM HIS HOME TO BE PUT IN A SMAAL TANK IN BC THEN TRANSFERRED TO ORLANDO. BETTER YET WHY DONT WE PUT YOU IN A SMALL BROOM CLESET AND MAKE YOU JUGGLE BALLS WITH A BOTTLE IN YOUR ASS. NOW HOW WOULD THAT MAKE YOU FEEL AND IF THIS WHALE WAS RETURNED TO THE WILD HE WOULD DIE DUE TO BEING FED MOST OF HIS LIFE THEWSE CAPTIVE ANIMALS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CAPTURED
WHY DONT YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH B4 YOU START RUNNIN YOUR NECK

      • todd

you need to do your research. what you’ve said is completely wrong. please state the facts and verify them. If you don’t; I will.

    • todd

Actually, he’s right. Do mild research and you can find out yourself.

yeah, Bob Barker is so right.the only thing you an learn in these places, zoos included, is how arrogant people are by thinking they can take wild animals and shove them in a small cage for the rest of their life just for entertaining purposes. and if little jimmy or another brat want to learn about animals, he can watch a dvd or explore the cities wildlife. 10 bucks say that the average kid visiting a zoo doesnt have a clue about its native wildlife like birds.

    • todd

Please tell me you’re kidding. I’m hoping a 5 year old wrote thisk and then I can give some slack.

      • http://vegan--japan.blogspot.com/ herwin

“thisk” ? :-P go finish your homework, junior !

    Do all oceans have walls?

They feed dolphins Prozac at Sea World.

  • deena

Thank you Bob. I cannot imagine what those animals go through.

  • todd

you have to be kidding me!!?? This is the most ridiculous display of BS I’ve ever seen. None of you have any idea of what it takes to care for these animals; and are completely naive to the propaganda that many of these groups espouse. PETA kills animals and has been busted for it…so forget anything they may have to say. But they will still take your donation. They are only about money..along with HSUS and EII. Please be rational in what you think is right. I’d love to share the facts with this case.

  • todd

Bob had never worked with a marine mammal in his life. Why he thinks he has any expertise on this, no one knows. Please stick with game shows. His intentions are good…but very misdirected. And that is not his fault…but the manipultion of these groups.

I can see my “comment is awaiting moderation”. Taking a screen shot as I type, as I’m confident my view will not be expressed here. Interesting how you guys work. And yet you still critisize.

    • JayP

Who signs your pay cheque Todd?

  • http://waterox.tumblr.com James Sklar

    I agree Bob, perfectly said.

  • http://eecostyle.com Johanne Gagnon

i very agree with Bob ..even if i love to see the animal i think they would like it more in the ocean

I agree with Bob. I think wild life belongs in the wild-doing wild things that native wild life does. Most creatures-even mankind would prefer freedom over a regular portion controlled meal in a tank.

    • http://vegan--japan.blogspot.com/ herwin

i couldnt agree more. your description of a regular controled meal in a limited enclosure is called “prison” when it concerns a human being. When these conditions are implied on an animal it is called “zoo” anmd it is supposed to be fun for us and even for the animals themself because they get an easy meal and are being taken care of.
