There are some news headlines that have to be read twice to be believed — so go ahead and look above just one more time.
Sarah Palin, the mainstream media-hater, hand-reading, ex-V.P. nom, ex-Governor, and all-around environmental nightmare is pitching a reality show to networks. As evidenced by the title of this post, somehow — just somehow — Palin wants it to be about her and her views of Alaska’s pristine environment. Entertainment Weekly reports:
Multiple sources confirm that Palin and uber-reality show producer Mark Burnett have been making the rounds in Hollywood this week to pitch a TV docudrama about Alaska. One source called it a “Planet Earth-type look” at Palin’s home state.
While there isn’t much out there as to how exactly Palin plans on taking the Planet Earth series and applying it to her worldview, we can only imagine that it features the following:
- Stirring narration by Glenn Beck.
- Gorgeous high-definition shots of oil platforms and 3D visualizations of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge under siege by oil companies.
- Slo-mo shots of wolves being hunted from helicopters. Kill shots will be enhanced to provide a 360-degree experience at the point of impact.
“There’s an awful lot of interest in her,” one executive said. “As a short-order series, it might work. It would depend on what kind of footage you get.”
Oh, the horror.
