Here at the Razz, we think it’s so important to rescue animals from shelters, and we’re happy to hear actress Jaime Ray Newman agrees!

The Eastwick star recently took time out of her busy filming schedule to chat with PETA about why she supports adopting rescued animals.  She also explained how spaying or neutering companion animals can save millions of lives each year.

In the PSA, Newman says:

“If world leaders would just get rescued poodles, I think there would be world peace. It adds a deep, deep dimension. You have to think outside of yourself, especially if you don’t have kids.

“Please don’t go to pet stores. Please don’t go to the breeders. Go to your local pound or go online, PetFinder.com…and almost for free you can get a beautiful animal.”

We totally agree with Newman. Rescued animals are the best! To find out more about what Jamie has to say, visit PETA.org. And make sure to check out her PSA below!

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
