To honor the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the organizers of Earth Day New York are launching the E campaign which is designed to give the eco-awareness day a “fresh face, draw new people into the environmental movement, and inspire everyone to take positive action for the planet.”
With Mahatma Gandhi’s quote as inspiration, the “Be the E“ campaign encourages citizens to “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
Through social media and a national public service advertising campaign, people from across the globe are encouraged to speak out about what they are doing to live greener, cleaner, and more sustainable lives whether through recycling, biking, protesting, or planting.
With supporters including Matthew Modine and Adrien Grenier, the E campaign hopes the fresh look will attract new people to the environmental movement. For more information visit be-the-e.org.
