As goodwill ambassadors for United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrived in Bosnia Sunday evening to recognize the 117,000 refugees displaced by the region’s war that ended nearly 15 years ago.
The couple traveled through the area visiting refugee camps accompanied by UNHCR staff after arriving from Venice where Jolie is filming “The Tourist” with Johnny Depp.
“I knew it was coming, but demanded that it be strictly confidential. I do not know exactly how the hours arrived, nor I can tell you where to stay,” said director of the Border Police Vinko Dumani who also added that the celebrity couple was granted VIP treatment.
Once the couple leaves the region, UNHCR is expected to make an official announcement with details of the visit.
