Alanis Morissette recently used Twitter to show off her latest favorite cookbook. In a tweet from TwitPic, the singer identified 500 Vegan Recipes by Celine Steen and Joni Marie Newman as the cookbook that gets priority in her kitchen.
The 500 Vegan Recipes description states, “Vegans and non-vegans alike can satisfy their every craving with the recipes inside, which feature international cuisines such as Indian and Cajun, as well as hearty main courses, sinful desserts, and comforting soups and breads.”
A variety of mouthwatering dishes are detailed including Blooming Onion Rolls, Rustic Tempeh-Spinach Pie, Pumpkin Spinach Ravioli, and Mexican Shepherd’s Pie. Soy Free, Gluten Free, Low Fat, and Under 30 Minutes are marked on the recipes that apply.
Morissette credits Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s book Eat to Live for her decision to switch to a vegan lifestyle in late 2008.
