The Ecorazzi team gets the honor of attending mucho green events throughout the year. While we have a blast at pretty much all of them, one of our all-time favorites is happening in just a couple weeks.

On April 20, 2010 The Daily Green will hold their second annual Heart of Green Awards ceremony — an invitation-only dinner in the LEED Gold-certified Hearst Tower in New York City.

Besides showing love to some of our favorite green celebs, the award ceremony honors one Lifetime Achievement winner and one Local Hero. Amazing!

The event will be hosted by eco actress Gloria Reuben, who won the 2009 Heart of Green Truth Teller award. In an interview with The Daily Green, Reuben shared some great ways to get involved. She said:

“The first thing I would like to see people do, which frankly ties back to when I first started talking about HIV, is get educated. Learn the facts. Learn what is really going on. Do not listen to the ones who are denying the reality. The more we learn the more apt we are to do something about what we learn. That’s what been great about the RePower America campaign; it’s been giving young people a platform to express their beliefs, and their desire to have climate legislation passed.”

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
