hollywood sign

The Trust for Public Land, the non-profit group working to “Save Cahuenga Peak”, the land adjacent to the famous Hollywood sign, has sent out an email prepping everyone for a “major announcement” tomorrow.

As the deadline for purchasing the land is tomorrow, this is either a really good omen — or one that’s ripe for disappointment. In the interest of optimism, we’re going to say that a deal has been reached on purchasing the 138-acres. Only a few days ago the amount raised was $2.8 million short of the total needed and a last minute fundraising drive was launched. So, if indeed the $12.5 million needed has been reached, you can bet that some deep pocket savior(s) stepped in at the last minute.

My money is on Bob Barker, just because.

Stay tuned to the announcement tomorrow.
