Winning a new 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid just for participating in an environmental-themed service effort in your community sounds like an unbelievable win-win situation, doesn’t it? Besides the obvious feel-good-endorphins that will rush through your system when you sign up with a local eco-charity organization to engage in a fulfilling greenification project, you’ll be bouncing off the walls when you get to drive off in the 40+ mile per hour easy-on-the-eyes compact that features a 13 horsepower electric motor powered by a 0.58 kilowatt hour nickel metal hydride battery. But, there’s not much time left…so chop, chop because the deadline is April 23.
It’s a lot easier than you’d imagine to score yourself this tasty set of eco-wheels. According to the Green Music Group Challenge and Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan “Fonzy’ Lessard, all they’re asking is that you:
- Sign up with a worthwhile environmental organization in your community.
- Complete your service with them.
- Create a profile on Green Music Group’s website.
- Photograph your chosen organization’s logo and upload it on the Green Music Group’s challenge page.
See? Easy-peasy. The greener, more creative and enjoyable your project, the greater the chance that you’ll be able to cruise home in the grand prize – but no worries, there are some pretty fantastic “consolation” goodies being awarded, as well. If winning a Specialized Bike AND a Rossignol Dave Matthews Band Limited Edition Stefan Lessard Signature Snowboard, isn’t tempting enough, they’re also offering a Patagonia Apparel Pack and a Bonnaroo Download to sweeten the deal even more.
This is the first of what will be 18 total challenges, with Sheryl Crow stepping up to launch her challenge next, so if you’re a little slow to get motivated this time around, stay tuned and get your eager greenie on. There’s no better time to make a difference in the world than now…and a few juicy carrots dangling from a stick certainly make the prospect a lot sweeter!
