The current article you are reading does not reflect the views of the current editors and contributors of the new Ecorazzi

Earlier this year, Ecorazzi got super pumped about William Shatner’s Hollywood Charity Horse Show — an annual benefit to raise money for AHEAD with Horses, Camp Max Straus, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Hollenbeck Police Activities League, The Painted Turtle and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Shatner first launched the initiative in 1990 after watching an exhibition put on AHEAD with Horses where children who were severely handicapped performed strong tricate exercises on the back of a horse. Shatner was deeply moved by the demonstration and said,”You can’t watch these kids without knowing you have to help, somehow.” 20 years later the event is still going strong!

Back in February, we told readers that Sheryl Crow was set to perform, but now it looks as though Sarah McLachlan has taken over vocal duties. We’re also excited to report that Truth On Earth — a vegan, eco social action rock group writing and performing songs about world problems — will be opening for McLachlan.

Sound like an event you just gotta hit up? Get more info at HorseShow.org!
