Katy Perry pictured here wearing an LED dress from CuteCircuit — a company that sells “wearable technology.” Sure, we’re excited that she’s wearing a dress made of LED lights instead of traditional lighting, but is energy-based fashion really a good idea? What do you think? Chime in and share your thoughts!

i think she is vapid and could give a shit about what she does.

  • David

But you will take the time to let people know that you don’t care about what she does.

  • kritsin

well, the post said to chime in and share my thoughts. perhaps i take the internet to literally.

  • David

So even though you don’t care about what she does you felt compelled to respond anyways just because the article told you to?

  • Jason

Hey Dav, you got a problem with people speaking their minds on the internet? Well guess what? It’s not only Kritsin who’s doing it so why don’t you go to all the other sites and rip on all the other millions of people. Or.. you could just lay off and worry about something more useful.. Like the LED clothes.. cause in case you haven’t noticed, it’s the topic of the artical not other people’s comments.

Hey Jas, you got a problem with me speaking my mind on the internet? Well guess what? I don’t give a rat’s ass.

Kristin said that she thought Katy Perry was vapid, no problem there. Then she said that she could give a shit about what Ms Perry does, so I pointed out how stupid it is to make a comment that you don’t care about what a particular person does because obviously she did care enough to make the comment. When I pointed this out her excuse was basically ‘the article told me too’. So I pointed out that she is a brainless lemming, although actually lemmings don’t live up to the bad reputation they have.

And you don’t know maybe I do rip on other people who make stupid and hypocritical posts. Kind of like yours.

  • Jason

I think as long as it’s fashonable people will want to wear it.
anyways it’s much better than wearing bear skins or fox skins.

  • kritsin

thanks Jason, and yeah ANYTHING is way better than wearing fur! :-(

Fashion is fashion, there is nothing we can do about it if they say that clothing that uses batteries are fashion, then its okay. But in my opinion, it’s NOT very helpful to the environment.

If we care about nature we should use wear natural clothing that is made of thread, rather than lights and batteries so that we would not worry about the disposal of it. Maybe we could recycle these things but for me it is NOT recommendable.

Visited 598 times, and these are the best kinds of comments we can get… sad that so many would waste their time this way. I for one commend Katy Perry for bringing attention to LED technology. These fabrics are improving by the minute, and soon, with OLED, thin flexible textile fibers will act as full color display screens, powered by very little electricity, perhaps even electricity provided by the body. That’s green enough for me.

David is an energy sucker, don’t feed him.
