the smurfs movie

We love smurfs. They live in mushroom-shaped eco-villages deep in the forest and wear the color blue like nobody else.

However, when we heard our beloved 80′s cartoon characters were being turned into a live-action, CGI flick featuring Gargamel the Sorcerer and his cat Azrael, we had our doubts.

I can’t say the above shot gives me much hope for this film — but I’m sure the kids will love it. Hank Azaria, however, who plays Gargamel, may never fully recover.

I think you mean HANK Azaria.

On a separate note, in college, I read a bunch of articles raising the concerns about the Smurfs as a sexist and anti-semitic show. Interesting stuff if you look at the names of Gargamel and his cat, his appearance, etc.

    Its Hank Azaria. Not Frank.
