Is it true that eating a meat-heavy diet can trigger impotence?
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) says that regularly consuming fat-laden foods and particularly animal protein can cause high cholesterol and artery blockages which can affect more vital organs than just the heart (yes, read between the lines).
Bolivian President Evo Morales made the headlines in April following his claim that when men follow a poor diet that includes factory farmed chicken (which is typically loaded with hormones), “they tend to deviate from their manhood” and suffer from baldness.
Even German researchers recently made a direct correlation between clogged arteries, compromised organ blood flow and erectile dysfunction.
In response, PETA has just revealed their latest campaign featuring British model and UK Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton clasping a wonky, incredibly uninspired hot dog with the catch phrase, “Eating Meat Got You Down? Fight Impotence. Go Vegetarian!”
In addition to citing all of the health challenges that accompany eating a regular meat based diet – including obesity, hormonal imbalances, prostate imbalances/cancer, high cholesterol, heart disease and diabetes – the animal rights organization is asking those who desire more va-va-voom in the bedroom to commit to becoming a vegan by signing their online pledge.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, high-tailing it to the farmer’s market seems like a really good idea right now.
