Well, shit.

According to a CBS News Correspondent, BP’s test last week of Kevin Costner’s oil filtration technology ended in failure.

The company had taken one (or more?) of the centrifuges to some marshes off the Louisiana coast, but they became clogged once started up. According to the report, BP is going to “tweak” the machines and then give them another shot sometime this week.

26 of the devices have been approved for testing in the Gulf. Perhaps they would be better suited for open-water filtration?

More as we get it.
