Thanks to thousands of moviegoers this past April Disneynature, in a collaborative effort with The Nature Conservancy, was able to raise funds to protect more than 35,000 acres of coral reef in The Bahamas. Now the groups plan to extend the “See ‘OCEANS,’ Save Oceans” program with the release of Disneynature “Oceans” as a Blu-ray Combo Pack (Bluray+ DVD) and 1-Disc DVD in October.

Disneynature will donate a portion of its proceeds to The Nature Conservancy from sales of the “Oceans” Blu-ray Combo packs or DVDs purchased from October 19-25. As before, the money will help establish new marine protected areas in The Bahamas along the west side of Andros Island which will provide natural habitat, nurseries, and feeding grounds to sea life.

Oceans” features footage of never-before-seen imagery of the ocean’s depths and features the vocal talents of actor and environmentalist, Pierce Brosnan.  The film has grossed 75.4 million worldwide since its release in April.
