larry king oil spill

It’s day 57 of the BP Oilpocalypse — and it’s taken this long for a celebrity telethon to appear!?

Apparently, everyone was just waiting for George Clooney to step up again like he did with Haiti — that, or the scope of this thing is just so far outside the realm of comprehension that a “wait and see” approach was taken.

Either way, Larry King is apparently not waiting for BP to start paying the bills of those struggling with this disaster and is organizing a telethon for next Monday, June 21st. There’s very little information to go on in regards to the event, mainly because we got it from Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder; who said that King called him to participate. We’re also a bit suspicious that outside of that mention, there’s absolutely zero online that we could find to back it up. Perhaps like the Haiti telethon, this one will be thrown together last-minute style — but hell, they’ve waited this long, why not promote the hell out of it first to get maximum bang-for-buck?

Stay tuned…
