Earlier this year, Ecorazzi reported that a few beach-lovin’ celebs would be participating in Project Save Our Surf‘s 24-hour surf-a-thon.
The event, which featured surfing, mural painting, arts and education projects, volleyball, yoga and eco-friendly food, took place this weekend and raised a whopping $50,000 in just 24 hours. Amazing!
As promised, stars like True Blood’s Sam Trammell, 24‘s Eric Balfour, and Mad Men’s John Slattery all came out to show their support and help raise money for the organization.
“I think it’s a really fun idea, it’s so different,” said actor Eric Balfour, who regularly surfs at Newport Beach. “It’s such a simple thing. This is it, this is our ocean – it should be enjoyed.”
Missed the surf-a-thon but still want to get involved? Done and done! Simply stop by ProjectSaveOurSurf.org and find out how you can donate, volunteer or just help spread the word.
