Sure, it might not make much sense to you and me, but it’s kind of fascinating to see all the beautiful complexity of Kevin Costner’s V20 centrifuge machines exposed.

This drawing comes from the patent on file for the technology — which BP is now using as part of its solution to clean up the Gulf. It expects to have 32 of Costner’s machines by early August working both deep and shallow waters effected by the spill.
