Twilight series star Ashley Greene recently became the new face of Mark, Avon’s youth-targeted brand. Because of her decision to team with Avon, who ended all animal testing of its products and ingredients in 1989 and in doing so became the first cosmetics company to adopt a cruelty-free policy, PETA has awarded the 23-year-old with a “Kind Choices Award.”

“Ashley and Avon are to be congratulated for encouraging millions of Twilight fans and other young people to choose makeup that’s fun, not fatal,” says PETA Vice President of Laboratory Investigations Kathy Guillermo. “Thanks to cruelty-free companies such as Avon, you can get a to-die-for look that no animals had to die for.”

Greene will receive a framed certificate and card signed by the staff at PETA.
