dicaprio, inception

Al Gore took to his personal website last Friday to do something a bit unusual: promote a sci-fi thriller.

“I have never recommended a movie before on algore.com,” he wrote, “but I am making an exception this weekend for a movie that I had an opportunity to see when it premiered in Los Angeles last Tuesday: “Inception”.”

“Do yourself a favor and see it,” he added. “It is, in my opinion, a real work of genius by the writer and director, Chris Nolan, with brilliant performances — especially by my friend and fellow environmentalist, Leo DiCaprio — incredible special effects, and a truly great musical score by Hans Zimmer.”

But before you start thinking Gore is gushing just because he loved the movie, he’s quick to reveal that there’s another reason for all this blog love promotion.

“Warner Brothers devoted the proceeds from the “Benefit Premiere” to the Alliance for Climate Protection — so you could say I am biased.”

Since Inception really is a good flick, we’ll take Gore’s love for the film as genuine and not just some back scratching.

Guy is just lucky it wasn’t Sorcerer’s Apprentice that decided to donate.
