Angela Kinsey, star of the NBC comedy “The Office” is featured in a print Public Service Announcement (PSA) released last month—how did we miss this?—supporting Alley Cat Allies, a national advocate for stray and feral cats. The “I’m An Alley Cat Ally” campaign, starring Kinsey and other celebrities including Portia de Rossi and the late Rue McClanahan, is designed to raise awareness about the millions of people who care for stray and feral cats in their communities throughout the U.S.

“We are delighted to have Angela Kinsey on board to represent the individuals from all walks of life who share compassion for these cats,” said Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies. “Kinsey’s character on The Office, Angela, exemplifies a stereotype sometimes associated with cat lovers. But the truth is millions of Americans have opened their hearts and wallets to stray and feral cats.”

A national survey conducted by Harris Interactive found that more than 40% of Americans have fed a stray cat at some point with one out of five doing so in the last year.
