Dog Fancy magazine is breaking all the rules in their October issue.

The magazine, which has been around for 40 years, has never once (no, not even once) put a human model on the cover…that is until now.

The special “flip” double issue features a special Martha Stewart cover and, inside, reveals the media mogul’s affinity for rescuing animals.

“Rescue is very important,” Stewart says. “I believe that there’s a loving home for many of the animals in shelters and that it’s important to inform people about how to find animals in need of rescue.”

Over the years, Martha has rescued many animals, including dogs, cats, sheep, geese and even donkeys. Whoa!

Now it is Mars Inc. advertising in the right column? I posted a couple of months ago when you were running P & G ads. I suppose Ecorazzi can’t put their money where their mouth is. Why not do some research on the type of companies that you take advertising dollars from. Hypocrites.

Dog_Works- Whoa, whoa, whoa, just relax for a darn second. We use an outside ad company (which is standard on blogs) and don’t always have the power to veto an ad until after it has already appeared on the site at least once. And remember, if there weren’t ads, we couldn’t provide all the awesome eco/animal content that we do. So how about we chill out for a second with all the negative, judgmental words.

I believe that there is a good deal of content on ecorazzi which provides negative and judgemental words for various celebrities and/or media types when they speak out of both sides of their mouth. I honestly applaud you for that. However, it is quite disappointing when corporate ads from companies with well known histories appear on a site such as this. It is offensive to readers as it reeks of hypocrisy. If not, what else would you call it – ineptitude, laziness?

Blaming it on the ad company is a little weak, no? If it mattered, couldn’t someone would make more of an effort to filter more effectively? What next? Texas cattle company, a furrier? Don’t dish it out unless you can live up to YOUR own moral standards.
