Singer and actress Renee Olstead is serious about speaking out for animals.
The young performer recently sat down with PETA2.com to talk about veganism, dogfighting and dissection alternatives. In the video, Olstead shares how she went vegetarian.
“I was on a sitcom when I was about 12,” said the actress. “And they had this one line where one of the characters was vegetarian and she said, ‘No thanks, I don’t eat anything with a face.’ And I just turned white. From that moment I suddenly realized that what I was eating was alive and had a mother and breathed; and it suddenly became so appalling.”
Renee goes on to encourage dissection alternatives and to discuss the joys of adopting animals from shelters. We like!
