Rumors are swirling that green gal Marion Cotillard has been offered the the part of either Selina Kyle or Talia al Ghul in the upcoming Batman 3 movie.

The actress most recently starred in Inception — which would make this her second filming gig with director Christopher Nolan. Of course, like all things related to Batman 3, we can chalk this one up there as pure speculation. However, it’s interesting to note that the source of the news has since taken down the post. Pressure from the studio?

Besides her work with Greenpeace in the Congo, Cotillard has long been in touch with protecting the environment. “I’m very happy with what’s happening now and how the awareness is spreading,” she said in a recent interview. “Because 10 years ago my mind-set wasn’t really normal for most people. I sounded like a crazy person talking about the environment. People saw me as a hippie who wanted to make my own cheese and live with animals in a house without electricity.”

The third Batman is expected to start filming early 2011 — so look for more confirmation on this one near the end of the year.
