National Geographic Channel is building up the hype for their new mini-series event Great Migrations — and this new extended trailer does a much better job than previous sneak peeks at getting us excited.

Unlike LIFE or Planet Earth that seemed to censor much of the violent parts of the wild kingdom, migrations is putting it all out there. Even in this trailer, there are a few moments that aren’t easy to watch.

Narrator Alec Baldwin has yet to make his voice known in any of these trailers, but we’re pretty confident he’ll get the job done in setting the right tone this Fall. Check out the trailer below:

(And oh yea, NatGeo — you hype this program about being shot in HD this and that, but then release a trailer online in sub-par quality. Even Youtube has HD options. It’s 2010. Give us something decent to show off.)
