lady gaga, raw meat dressWe’re trying not to roll our eyes about this one, but…we…can…barely…help…ourselves!

Earlier this month, Ecorazzi reported that Lady Gaga wore an outfit made of raw meat on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. Long story short: we were grossed out by the dress of flesh and more than a little disappointed in Gaga’s fashion sense.

Sadly, last night at the VMA’s, Lady Gaga revisited the raw meat outfit once again as she accepted a Moon Man award for Video of the Year for Bad Romance. Really? Again with the raw meat dress?

Ellen Degeneres (one of our favorite celebrity vegans) taped the season opener of her show at the awards and asked Gaga about the outfit.

“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth,” said Gaga. “However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

With that, Ellen presented the star with a vegetable bikini and suggested wearing that next time she wants to make a statement.

What do you think about Lady Gaga’s raw meat dress? A political statement or a desperate cry for publicity? Chime in and share your thoughts! More photos below:

Again, BORING. No one asked her to carry a judgement-free torch, she doesn’t care about anything but ATTENTION, that’s the “Why” she wears these things.

Those animals had to die for this? That’s just lame.

  • ann

It’s disgusting! Just think of the smell of that thing…Rotting flesh! I feel sorry for the people who had to sit next to her.

  • derp

Had the dress been made of REAL meat, I would be quite offended. But it’s not so, it really doesn’t bother me that much

Look at me!! I’m obviously baiting serial killers and/or wolves!!!

  • Lesli

It is disgusting! Gaga is a disgusting human being anyway so I expected something like that from her! Are you that surprised!

    Door number 2.

I would like to point out that her clothing made out of meat grosses people out, while women wearing the PETA lettuce bikini shifts the conversation to sexuality and lust.

That should tell you something about your food choices.

You see a lot more raw produce as an aesthetically pleasing display than you do cuts of raw meat

She’s so shallow and lame, and yeah I agree, she does this stuff for attention. And what exactly IS her point anyhow? What is it that she believes in so firmly, yet doesn’t articulate to Ellen? She’s lousy at “expressing herself”… Perhaps there isn’t much “self” left, I mean, I know that I would feel empty and dead inside if I pranced around in dead animals… I would also feel like I needed a wash! Yuck! That girl is gross…

I’m not sure it’s either. If she were trying to make a political statement about NOT being a piece of meat this was in effective. Since the dress is NOT made of real meat it wouldn’t be offensive smelling, just ugly to look at… like fake fur is just as ugly looking as real fur on a person. I KNOW it’s not a desperate cry for publicity, that girl doesn’t even have to speak to get publicity, just sing and perform. I’m thinking she’s trying to make a statement most people will misunderstand (i don’t get it) and then focus on the dress made of FAKE meat.

Where does it say it was made of FAKE meat? I can’t find that reliably, yet. That would be a lot(?) better. The cover for Japan’s Vogue was real. Mad Cow Disease makes people crazy, I guess.

Sidenote: Makes me think of Invader Zimm:
“The dogs!? After my juicy meat-body of baloney meat!”

  • Rachelle

    YAY Ellen!! LOL!

According to this article, it appears as though the meat was real:

    Bummer. :(

The dress was real raw meat and the most disgusting thing I have seen on a celebrity yet! Why does someone like her even need anymore publicity? Is it a test of how far famous people can go before “fans” turn away from them in disgust? She surely fails this test to the extreme. In lieu of more choice words that would not be PG-rated, here is a suitable quote for people who wear meat on their brains:

Sir Andrew: “I am a great eater of beef
and I believe that does harm to my wit.”
    Sir Toby: “No question.”
William Shakespeare,Twelfth Night, Act I, Scene III

i saw many claim that it’s didgusting and cruel and evil…..

just remember , you put the very same thing into your mouth and stomache everyday.

is eating animals less cruel than wearing them? well , i think there’s no difference.

so if u aren’t vegeterian , stop your silly speech.

    • Linda

Of course eating animals is less cruel than wearing them! We eat meat to nourish our bodies, just like other animals do, like the lion and the tiger. But you don’t see carnivores in the wild sporting jackets made of their bloddy prey for the sake of making political or fashion statements. By wearing a dress made of raw meat, instead of eating the meat, Sicko Gaga demostrated utter disrespect for animals. That woman is disgusting, and I am boycotting her music from now on!!!
