Need even more evidence that the greening of Hollywood continues? From the major eco-efforts of studios and the LEED Gold Status of Sony Pictures’ new office buildings to the unveiling of a new planet-friendly database enabling Tinseltown’s movers and shakers how to make their productions more sustainable, everything seems to be as good as green these days.

Glitzy movie premieres and awards ceremonies – most recently the 2010 Emmy Awards – continue to reflect eco-sensibilities, a goal that FOX network’s Eco-Casino shindig embraced down to every last detail. Proving that partying hardy can easily be a green affair, stars from Bones, Glee, Fringe, House and the new series Lone Star were notified of their impending social commitment via e-invitations and were then whisked away to Boa steakhouse in LA on the evening of the affair in hybrid cars. From there, they enjoyed organically produced and locally harvested eats accompanied with recycled content napkins, biodiesel-generated LED lighting, casino chips made with recycled consumer content and signage made with biodegradable material.

• Lisa Edelstein (House) says that in addition to being a 28 year long vegetarian, she’s in the process of adding solar panels to her home, while her co-star Peter Jacobson says that when he returns to his stomping grounds in New York City, he takes public transportation and recycles.
• Kelli Williams (Lie To Me) fuels her Mercedes with recycled vegetable oil and attributes the film Food Inc. with her commitment to part-time vegetarianism, pedaling to the grocery store and packing plastic-bag-free lunches.
• Tamara Taylor (Bones) has cut single-use plastic bottles from her repertoire, instead relying on a glass jug water delivery service and pouring the H20 into reusable containers.
• James Wolk (Lone Star) makes sure that his faucet is in the ‘off’ position while brushing his teeth, while his co-star Eloise Mumford sings the praises of reusable drinking containers, recycling, and the efforts of her seaweed scientist father.
• John Noble (Fringe) is currently living car-free (with plans to purchase a planet-friendly vehicle in the future), plus he praises his Vancouver-based set for embracing reusable bottles and recycling the large majority of waste.
• Joe Bastianich (MasterChef judge) says that his restaurants are committed to sourcing local, sustainable food and fueling their trucks with biodiesel.
• Matthew Morrison (Glee) is considering the purchase of a parcel of Costa Rican rainforest so it can’t be developed, and co-star Jessalyn Gilsig works in her garden while also streamlining her personal consumption and waste habits.
